I understand why we have the Price Check forums and appreciate it but at the same time, why wait on a price check where a search on the high end/sell sections of Ventari only takes a couple of moments?

If they don't want people to post in their sale threads, why not just leave a notice (in bold type) at the top of the post that bidding has ended? That way, you or I can still do a search and see what each item went for while keeping away anyone who might bid on the sold items.

Usually if i'm buying something, I would come to guru to do a quick price check or ask guildies to see if the price is correct.

As for weapons and other collectable items, I generally try to buy those things later on in game. I don't want to buy them first and paid higher price for it.

As for selling, I'll go to different districts to look at the current or average market price. Try pricing them accordingly and sell it. If I get no buyers, I'll reduce my price a bit and see if there any takers. If there isn't any, I'll hang on to those items to sell later or merchant it. (if it's crappy weapons with average or good mods, I would just salvage instead of selling it as a whole)

It's like selling/keeping z-keys. You can either make huge profits selling it or keeping it to see if you get a everlasting tonic (which could be sold for good amount of gold/ectos).

Here's my rule of thumb...

1. If I believe that an item may be worth more than 5K, I hold onto it and try to sell it. It generally finds a temporary "home" on one of my heroes.

2. If I believe that an item has value but it is likely less than 5K, it's not worth my time (or inventory space) to try to find a buyer. To the merchant it goes.

Simply put, I play this game to actually play the game, and not to amass wealth. You'd be surprised how much money you can make actually playing the game rather than sitting in a town (or on these forums) trying to sell an item that might be worth 1-2K.

Here's a hint I have for those looking to buy items, that's a lot of help.

If you contact someone to buy an item but decide you're not interested for whatever reason - say so. A simple "no thanks, changed my mind" would be great. Personally, I don't like sitting around waiting for a reply not knowing if they're going to buy or not when I could be looking for other offers or off doing other things.

It's basic common courtesy, really.
